North Pines is a neighborhood of approximately 100 homes located on the slope of Piney Mountain, 10 minutes from the Charlottesville Albemarle Airport, and within 5 minutes of the NGIC/DIA, General Electric, UVA Research Park, PRA International, the Hollymead Town Center and the new Martha Jefferson Emergency Room.​ ​North Pines has large lots on 2+ acres of hardwood trees, with the majority of the homes ranging from 3 acres and up to 4+. The community is bordered by the North Fork of the Rivanna River and there is no HOA. There is a road maintenance agreement for a few of the streets that are not included as a part f the state maintenance. Streets are all named after Latin botanical names.
